3 injured in early morning shooting in Paterson: authorities

Three men were hospitalized following Saturday's shooting near East 30th Street and 18th Avenue, prosecutors said.



PATERSON, NJ — Three people were injured early Saturday morning in a shooting in Paterson, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said.

According to authorities, Paterson police were called to an area near East 30th Street and 18th Avenue for reports of shots fired.

When police arrived, they were told that a 35-year-old man from Paterson and a 25-year-old man from Saint Albans, New York, had driven to the Paterson Medical Center. St. Joseph University for treatment.

Prosecutors say both men suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Shortly after, a third victim identified as a 31-year-old New York man also arrived at the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. Authorities said his injuries were also not considered life-threatening.

Authorities did not say whether a suspect was in custody.
