Three people in Chilton County were injured Sunday afternoon after a boat they were on caught fire. Around 3:45 p.m., Phillip McCarn, a 39-year-old Hoover man, was trying to launch a 19-foot 2000 Maxum bow rider when it caught fire, according to ALEA. Three people in Chilton County were injured Sunday afternoon after a boat they were on caught fire.

Around 3:45 p.m., Phillip McCarn, a 39-year-old Hoover man, was trying to launch a 19-foot Bow Rider 2000 Maxum when it caught fire, according to ALEA.

McCarn and two other passengers were injured in the fire but received treatment shortly afterward, which ALEA officials said were not life-threatening.

The boat caught fire in the Cargile Creek area of Lake Mitchell, not far from Grace Marina.

The ALEA Marine Patrol Division is working to determine the cause of the fire.
