3 homes raided, 12 arrested in suspected Henry County drug ring

Henry County police found drugs, guns and cars during a major raid at three McDonough homes.

Police said they raided three homes at once and arrested 12 people as part of a suspected criminal network.

Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandez was live Wednesday in Henry County, where the investigation took place.

Sergeant Sykes said five different law enforcement agencies helped remove everything from the street on May 17.

“It might kind of curb drug activity in Henry County, but it would let criminals know that we're watching and we're very vigilant,” he said.

They seized $210,000 in cash, cocaine, ecstasy pills, marijuana and firearms, including an assault rifle.

“We will come together to ensure the safety of our citizens of Henry County,” Sykes said. “Drugs are everywhere, no matter what county you live in, no matter what city or neighborhood you live in. »

Channel 2 Action News asked if the 12 suspects were part of a gang, but police have not said so at this time because the alleged criminal network is still under investigation.

Police could potentially make other arrests.
