3 dead in Montgomery shooting Tuesday evening

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Three men died in a shooting Tuesday evening, according to the Montgomery Police Department.

Police and firefighters responded to the 4100 block of Troy Highway just before 9 p.m. on reports of people being shot.

On site, emergency services found that two victims had died from gunshot wounds. A third victim was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening conditions, but died from his injuries shortly after arrival.

The heavy police presence is centered on a business called Tienda Los Hermanos, located at 4111 Troy Hwy. Internet listings show the business is a Hispanic grocery store.

A WSFA 12 News crew also saw Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed and several city council members at the scene. Hours earlier, the mayor and councilors appeared before a large audience at the Montgomery City Council meeting Tuesday evening. This is where the mayor gave a lengthy presentation on crime and potential solutions, and asked council members for a multi-million dollar investment to curb crime.

This is an evolving situation with few other details immediately available. No suspects or motive have been determined. Keep checking for updates.
