29-year-old man killed in shooting near 9th Street and Van Brunt Boulevard.

A 29-year-old man is dead after being shot in Kansas City over the weekend. William C. Wright was found fatally injured near the intersection of East 9th Street and Van Brunt Blvd Sunday before 2 p.m. Officers from the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department were dispatched to the intersection following a reported shooting. According to KCPD, responding officers were directed to the sidewalk, where Wright was found unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers began rendering medical aid until emergency medical services could respond and take over. Paramedics pronounced Wright dead shortly after arriving. Police say the circumstances surrounding this incident are currently unknown. No suspects are in custody at this time. Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded and collected evidence and witness statements. The case is still ongoing. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
