27-year-old man killed in Belmont shooting Friday

BELMONT — A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in Belmont Friday evening, according to police.

Belmont police officers responded to reports of shots fired around Hiller and Irwin streets near O'Donnell Park on Friday at 8 p.m. There, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency medical aid from paramedics, the man was pronounced dead, police said.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and detectives are pursuing several leads, police said. No arrests have been announced.
