24-year-old man charged with three stabbings in Taunton

A 24-year-old man is charged in connection with a home invasion and triple stabbing in Taunton on Tuesday afternoon.

Cye Key of Taunton was arrested and charged with home invasion, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), according to Taunton police.

Police said officers responded to Paul Bunker Drive around 1:20 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. At the scene, they found three Taunton men, a 19-year-old and two 21-year-olds, injured. All three men were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Police said Key was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police said Key allegedly entered the apartment with a hammer and a large knife and began attacking the three men.

“The investigation determined that the incident stemmed from an argument the previous night,” police said.

Key was arraigned Wednesday at Taunton District Court and remanded in custody pending a dangerousness hearing. Police said he had outstanding arrest warrants for previous incidents.
