21-year-old man identified as victim of fatal crash in Barnwell County

June 1 – A single-vehicle crash resulted in the death of one person in Barnwell County Friday evening.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that Bryce Tolliver, 21, was killed in a collision on May 31 around 7:40 p.m. The incident occurred on Patterson Mill Road, nearly two miles south of Snelling .

According to Highway Patrol Master Mitchell Ridgeway, Tolliver was driving a 2009 Chevrolet sedan heading west on Patterson Mill Road when the crash occurred. The vehicle allegedly left the roadway to the right, overcorrected, then rolled toward the left side of the roadway where it hit an embankment and overturned. The vehicle then struck several trees.

Tolliver was transported by helicopter to Augusta University Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

No further information is available at this time. The collision is currently under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
