200 missing children in the United States found in Arizona

200 missing children in the United States, many of them victims of human trafficking, have been found. Several of them are in several cities in Arizona.

The U.S. Marshals Office has just completed Operation We Will Find You 2, which rescued missing children across the country. Many children were found in Phoenix, Glendale, Goodyear and Tucson, Arizona.

Other states targeted in the joint operation include California, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, New York and Oregon. Many of these children were victims of a $150 billion-a-year human trafficking industry.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the operation was conducted from May 20 to June 24 and focused on areas of the United States of America with “high number of seriously missing children“.

With technical assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), OWWFY2 recovered and removed 123 children from dangerous situations. An additional 77 missing children were located and were in safe locations, according to law enforcement or child protective agencies. Of the 200 children recovered, 173 were endangered runaways, 25 were considered missing, one was a family abduction, and one was a non-family abduction. – justice.gov

Here in the El Paso area, the Paso Del Norte Center Of Hope is working to stop human trafficking and help victims in a variety of ways. They also need a little help because when it comes to human trafficking, El Paso is pretty “busy.”

Our proximity to the international border and easy access to I-10…the busiest human trafficking route in the country…are just a few of the reasons why El Paso is so active in the world of trafficking.
