20-acre fire in Castaic prompts evacuations – Daily News

A few homes along a residential building in Castaic were evacuated Sunday, June 30, after a bushfire grew to more than 20 acres early in the afternoon.

The fire broke out around 12:40 p.m. near Capri Court and Barcelona Road, near Castaic Middle School, and burned about an acre, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. By 1:45 p.m., the fire had grown to 22 acres.

Four homes along Capri were evacuated around 1:30 p.m., authorities said.

No injuries or damaged structures were immediately reported. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
