2 unrelated fatal shootings under investigation in Colton – San Bernardino Sun

Unrelated shootings left two people dead in Colton on the night of Monday, June 3, the Colton Police Department said.

Around 9:30 p.m. Monday, Colton police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of North Mt. Vernon Avenue in Colton, police said Tuesday.

Officers found a 32-year-old Colton man with fatal gunshot wounds to the upper torso, a police news release said.

Around 10:48 p.m., Colton police arrived at the scene of another shooting in the 900 block of Fairway Drive in Colton, said Cpl. Mike Sandoval, spokesman for the Colton Police Department.

A 25-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle at an apartment complex, Sandoval said.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of the victims' families, Sandoval said.
