2 shots fired in Silver Spring park, police investigating

Calls came in shortly before 7 p.m. and officers located two victims with gunshot wounds in the local Nolte park.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Montgomery County officers are investigating a shooting in Silver Spring.

Police said calls were received shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday for reports of shots fired. When officers arrived at the 500 block of Thayer Avenue, they located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the local Nolte park.

At this time, we do not know anything about the victims, including: their gender, name, age or place of residence. Montgomery County Police and Park Police are investigating the shooting.

This is an active investigation and police are working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. Authorities have not issued a lookout or released any information regarding the suspect at this time.
