2 people arrested on drug charges in Iowa County | Crime

IOWA COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) — Two people have been arrested on drug charges in the village of Cobb.

On Tuesday, around 11 a.m., members of the Richland-Iowa-Grant-Drug Task Force executed a search warrant. Iowa County Sheriff Michael Peterson said a man and woman were arrested in connection with a drug bust. One of those arrested was also charged with child neglect.

Charges have not yet been filed.

Julie A. Porteous, 48, was arrested on several charges, including possession with intent to deliver narcotics, possession with intent to deliver amphetamine, bail jumping and maintaining a place of trafficking drug. Porteous was also arrested on two misdemeanor charges: neglect of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Larry J. Lapan, 62, who was already on probation, was arrested as a party to a felony related to charges of drug possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute narcotics amphetamine and maintaining a drug trafficking location.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office and members of the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force were assisted by first responders from Cobb, Highland EMS and Haase's Towing.
