2 people arrested for their alleged roles in Avon shooting that left 2 dead

AVON, Ind. — Two people have been arrested for their alleged roles in a shooting that left two people dead in Avon in January.

According to a post on the Avon Police Department's Facebook page, Gavin Bollman, 21, of Brownsburg, and Olivia Kirksy, 18, of Avon, were both still incarcerated at the Hendricks County Jail Friday in 8:45 p.m.

The Indiana Courts Public Reporting System indicates Kirksy faces two Level 3 felony charges of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Bollman was also charged with two Level 3 felonies for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

APD reported that investigators currently believe Kirksy arranged a drug transaction between Patrick Day of Avon and Samual Oliver of Plainfield. Oliver and Day were the two people killed in the shooting.

Police found one of the men dead on Glensford Drive. The other was transported to a local hospital before dying. Police did not say which person was found dead at the scene.

Police also said Bollman provided Day with a handgun before the shooting. FOX59 and CBS4 previously reported that the fatal shooting may have been the result of a botched drug deal.

The shooting marked Avon's first homicide since 2022.
