2 Missing Georgia Firefighters, Reagan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, Found Dead

Two Georgia firefighters, once high school sweethearts, were found dead Sunday in Tennessee.

Hinesville, Georgia, police said in a statement Sunday that firefighters Reagan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were found dead in Cocke County, Tennessee, just east of Gatlinburg. Authorities said their bodies were found along with Anderson's car, which police said they had been searching for since it was last seen at a local gym last week.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the Anderson and Kuhbander families during this incredibly difficult time,” the Hinesville Police Department said.

Anderson and Kuhbander dated for seven years, dating back to high school, Kuhbander's parents told local station WJCL last week.

“I'm so scared,” Jane Kuhbander, Chandler's mother, told the newspaper as she searched for her son and his girlfriend. “I just want them to come home.” »

Kuhbander's mother told WJCL she last spoke to her son Monday morning, when he told her Anderson was continually calling him and threatening himself.

“He was telling me she was blowing up his phone and he said she threatened to kill herself,” Kuhbander's mother told the outlet. “And this isn’t the first time she’s done it.”

Two days earlier, on Saturday, June 22, Anderson was reportedly arrested after allegedly seizing Kuhbander's car while he was on a date with another woman. Kuhbander's mother told WJCL that Anderson posted bail after being charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Anderson was last seen Monday morning, June 24, when security cameras spotted Anderson and Kuhbander in her car together in the parking lot outside her gym. Kuhbander's parents told WJCL they reviewed the security footage.

“At 11:40 a.m., my son comes out of the building and he looks very comfortable, like he just got a workout,” Kuhbander’s mother said. “He doesn’t look like he’s in a hurry as he walks across the parking lot. After that, we don’t see him again.”

Kuhbander’s mother added: “I don’t want to find myself in this situation. And when I see that on television, I can understand how they feel. And then, I say to myself: I am that person. I feel like this. It's terrifying and I have no answers. »

Hinesville police said Tennessee investigators are examining the crime scene and “details regarding the discovery of their bodies, their vehicle and the events leading to their deaths are not available at this time.”
