2 injured, 1 arrested in Oakland County shooting: sheriff

PONTIAC, MI — A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Pontiac that left two people injured last Friday, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Officers went to Huron Plaza on Huron Street where they found numerous shell casings in the street and multiple bullet holes on the exterior of the building at 11 p.m. Friday, according to the sheriff's office.

Inside the building, officers found a 23-year-old Pontiac man with a minor gunshot wound to his back while holding an AR-style rifle, according to the sheriff's office.

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.

Officers also found a 23-year-old Pontiac man in a room with a serious gunshot wound to his back, according to the sheriff's office.

He was also transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition, according to the sheriff's office.

Officers then arrested a 28-year-old Pontiac man in connection with the shooting, according to the sheriff's office.

He was booked into the Oakland County Jail and charges are pending against him, according to the sheriff's office.

Officers also found several shell casings and another loaded AR-style magazine, as well as a large amount of marijuana, baggies and a scale inside the building, according to the sheriff's office.

Police also said numerous vehicles in the parking lot were riddled with bullets, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the sheriff's office, police believe the building was used as an after-hours meeting place for narcotics equipment, which was scattered in plain sight throughout the building.
