19-year-old arrested after stabbing Palestinian

PALESTINE, Texas (KETK) – The Palestine Police Department said it arrested a 19-year-old man for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a stabbing Monday.

Around 2:21 a.m. Monday, a Palestinian police officer went to the East Campus of the Palestinian Regional Medical Center and allegedly found someone carrying a stabbing victim. According to Palestinian police, the officer helped medical staff put the victim on the stretcher before he was taken for emergency treatment.

Then, Palestinian PD agents reportedly went to the 500 block of Fort Street to investigate the stabbing and speak with anyone involved.

Marvin Osarius Villalobos-Flores, 19, of Palestine, was identified as a suspect in the attack and officers also found a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the stabbing.

Villalobos-Flores was booked into the Anderson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Palestinian police say the stabbing victim is expected to survive.
