17-year-old dies after motorbike crash on Main Road, Biggin Hill

A teenager has died following a motorcycle accident.

A police officer came across a bicycle which had been involved in a collision on Main Road, Biggin Hill, just before midnight last night (June 9).

Two teenagers received first aid before emergency services arrived.

A 17-year-old was later pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.

The second boy was taken to hospital where his condition was not deemed life-threatening.

He was arrested as part of the investigation and taken to a south London police station.

Investigations are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the collision.

Police are also appealing for witnesses following the accident.

Detectives believe the motorcycle may have been near a car at the time of the collision, but that car did not stop at the scene.

Investigations are underway to locate this vehicle and its occupants and determine whether it played a role in the fatal collision.

The main road remains closed while work continues.
