17 competing for Miss Massachusetts Teen title on June 16 in Fall River

Seventeen young women are participating in the upcoming Miss Massachusetts' Teen Pageant and will share their talents and community service goals.

One of the 17 will succeed Emma Gibney, Miss Massachusetts Teen 2023, of New Bedford.

The eight local contestants in this year's competition come from Fall River, New Bedford, Marion, Fairhaven and Acushnet.

The 24th annual Miss Massachusetts' Teen Pageant will be held this Sunday, June 16 at 5 p.m. at BMC Durfee High School, 460 Elsbree St. in Fall River.

Contestants compete for scholarships and the opportunity to represent Massachusetts at the Miss America's Teen pageant in Orlando, Florida, in January 2025.

Who are the SouthCoast candidates?

Katie Thomas, 15, of Fall River, a sophomore at Durfee High School, will share her story and present “Suffering in Silence, Making Sure Everyone Gets the Help and Support They Need.”

Olivia Charest, 14, of New Bedford, a freshman at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, will perform a vocal performance and present “Helping Others Find Joy in Their Journey.”

Khloe Allain, 14, of New Bedford, a sophomore at GNBRVT High School, will perform acrobatics and tumbling and present “NVLD – Spreading Awareness on Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities.”

Na'Shajia Monteiro, 18, of New Bedford, a 2024 graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School, will perform acrobatics/tumbling and present “You Control Your Own Destiny: Youth Empowerment.”

Layla Rej Johnson, 16, of New Bedford, a student at GNBRVT High School, will perform musical dance theater and present “It’s OK to Not Be OK – Ending the Mental Health Stigma.”

Bree LeFavor, 13, of Marion, a freshman at Old Rochester Regional High School, will perform a vocal performance and present “Swim Safety: Swim with Insightful Means.”

Jaime St. Onge, 18, of Fairhaven, a 2024 graduate of Fairhaven High School, will perform jazz dance and present “Your Weight Does Not Define Your Worth: Promoting Body Positivity.”

Anastasia Rose, 16, of Acushnet, a student at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, will perform a martial arts demonstration and present “Stasia Strong: Staying Strong for Others Battling Cancer.”

Can you still attend the competition?

Yes. $50 VIP tickets and $30 general admission tickets are available online through Eventbrite until June 15.

On June 16, in-person general admission tickets will be available for $40 by cash or check only. Ticket information is available on the Miss Massachusetts' Teen Facebook page.
