15-year-old charged in stabbing death of 16-year-old in Spanish Town | News

A 15-year-old boy from Homestead, Spanish Town, St Catherine, has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old during an altercation.

The teenager was charged on Saturday following a question and answer session in the presence of a lawyer.

His court date must be finalized.

The incident happened on Wednesday, May 29 on Eddiston Boulevard in Spanish Town.

Zavear Edwards, 16, of Eddiston Boulevard, Spanish Town, was killed.

According to reports, around 8 p.m., the 15-year-old and Edwards got into an altercation when the teen allegedly used a sharp object to stab Edwards multiple times.

Police were summoned and Edwards was taken to hospital where he died while being treated.

The accused was charged a few days later, on Saturday June 1.
