13-year-old arrested after fatal stabbing – Mississippi's Best Community Newspaper

FAYETTE — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office arrested a 13-year-old after his mother's boyfriend was stabbed to death Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Jefferson County Sheriff James Bailey said officers responded to a disturbance call on Green Acres Drive, just outside Fayette, shortly after midnight Sunday.

When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Phillip Queen of Fayette deceased with multiple stab wounds.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Bonds Jr., 13, also from Fayette, who was held at the juvenile detention center until his first court appearance Monday. After that, Bonds was charged with murder as an adult, Bailey said, adding that he was not given bail.

Bailey said further information could not be released because the investigation is still ongoing.
