12 years. boy and teenage girl injured in drive-by shooting in Douglas: CPD

CHICAGO — A 12-year-old boy, a teenage girl and a teenage boy were injured after a drive-by shooting in separate incidents on the city's South Side Friday evening.

Police say the 12-year-old boy was walking with his friends in the 500 block of 31st Street when someone from a silver sedan fired shots into the crowd.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition.

A 15-year-old girl was sitting in a car in the same location when she was shot in the back. She was taken to hospital in good condition.

In another incident, a 16-year-old boy was standing in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant at 3400 South King Drive around 10:13 p.m. when shots were fired. The boy is in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

There is currently no one in custody for any incident. WGN will be updated as more information becomes available.
