12-year-old boy stabbed during altercation at East Providence Park

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a 12-year-old boy was stabbed during a fight at an East Providence park Friday night, according to police.

Police said the altercation happened near the basketball courts at the Central Avenue playground.

The boy, who was stabbed in the leg, was taken to hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made at this time.
