12 people sentenced in Knox County Common Pleas Court in May

MOUNT VERNON — Twelve people were sentenced in May in Knox County Common Pleas Court.

Two were sentenced on May 2

  • Joshua Devore, of South Point, received one year of supervised sentencing under the supervision of Adult Justice Services and served 47 days in the Knox County Jail, including 47 days for aggravated possession of drugs.
  • Matthew Abney, of Howard, received two years of community control and must serve 180 days in the county jail, with 42 days already served, to be suspended on the condition that Abney enters and successfully completes a residential treatment program in a community correctional facility, for possession of a fentanyl-related compound.

Four were sentenced on May 9

  • Ronald Hoeflich Jr., of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to a final two-year prison term for possessing weapons while serving a disability conviction. Hoeflich Jr. was given 84 days served for his sentence. He was ordered to confiscate a .22 caliber revolver from the Mount Vernon Police Department.
  • Britney Grubaugh-Ressler, of Centerburg, was sentenced to five years of community control for robbery. Grubaugh-Ressler must also serve 15 days in the county jail.
  • Warren Hatfield, of Mansfield, was sentenced to 308 days in the county jail, credited with 308 days served for aggravated drug possession.
  • Andrew Ellis, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 17 months in prison for domestic violence. It is to be served concurrently with the sentence imposed in Ellis Case No. 23CR12-0298. He received 195 credits served for his sentence.
  • Ellis was sentenced to an indeterminate prison term of four years to six years for burglary; he must also serve a permanent prison sentence of 30 months for violating a protection order, which sentence is to be served concurrently and concurrently with the sentence imposed in Case No. 23CR10-0256. Ellis was credited with 143 days served for his sentence.

Five were sentenced on May 16

  • Hayden Anderson, of Mount Vernon, received two years of community control for a domestic violence conviction and will serve 180 days in the county jail, with credit for five days suspended on the condition that Anderson completes treatment in the county jail. West Central Community Correctional Facility. program, among other requirements.
  • Carter Gallagher, of Fredericktown, received two years of community control for an attempted amended fourth-degree felony conviction.
  • Wesley Addy, of Mount Vernon, received two years of community control for trespassing in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be convicted.
  • Connie Dininger, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to an indeterminate prison term of seven years, with a maximum of 10 1/2 years, with 66 days served for manslaughter.
  • Elijah Desich, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to two years of community control for failure to register as a felony offender.

One of them was sentenced on May 30

  • Chase Huffman, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 11 months in prison for attempted intrusion into a habitation while one person is currently sentenced with 52 days served.
