117,000 mattresses in a box for fire hazard, sold at Amazon, Target and Walmart

Mattress brand recalled due to fire hazard.

The mattresses are marketed under the Nap Queen brand and were sold before October 2023.

Models include the Nap Queen Sleep Victoria Cooling Gel and Pocket Spring Hybrid Mattresses. Approximately 117,200 mattresses are affected by the recall.

The mattresses do not meet federal fire safety requirements, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

This recall involves all sizes and thicknesses of Nap Queen Sleep Victoria cooling gel and pocket spring hybrid mattresses manufactured before October 2023, including models NQ691011, NQ691015, NQ691021, NQ691031, NQ691041, NQ691211, NQ691215, NQ691221, 1, 1, NQ69811, NQ69815, NQ69821, NQ69831 and NQ69841.

Single-sided mattresses have a white knit top panel quilted with wavy diamonds and a black woven quilted side panel. They were sold compressed in a box. The top and bottom edges of the mattresses are black with yellow stitching. “Nap Queen Sleep”, “Victoria Hybrid”, model number and date of manufacture appear on a white label sewn onto the mattress cover.

The manufacturer is offering a free blanket, which Nap Queen will send to affected customers free of charge.

Mattresses are the type that are compressed in a box and shipped. They were sold by retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Target and Home Depot for between $160 and $375.
