11 people arrested for alleged sex crimes against children in Oakley

OAKLEY, California – The Oakley Police Department conducted an operation from May 24-31 that involved identifying and arresting adults who use the Internet to search for children to sexually exploit and abuse them.

Oakley Police Detective J. Dombrouski coordinated the operation, supported by Sergeant K. Morris, Detective B. Gill, Detective N. Pistello, Detective R. Schiff and a host of others Oakley police officers. Coordination efforts included ensuring sufficient personnel were dedicated and in place to represent an appropriate number of dismantling teams and ensuring there was sufficient technical, forensic and investigation to carry out the operation.

This operation resulted in 11 arrests of adults who engaged in inappropriate online relationships of a sexual nature with children they believed to be minors. The 11 suspects arrested attempted to physically meet their target by going to a predefined “meeting location”.

I have always appreciated proactive and task-oriented missions. This operation ranks at the top of what I consider to be the most important type of proactive, task-oriented missions. In a very literal sense, the children's innocence was saved through the efforts of this operation. Knowing some of the stories that led to these arrests, I have a very visceral feeling of disgust toward the men who were arrested. I believe I speak for everyone involved in what happened when I say that I fully support the prosecutors in handling the criminal cases and cases against these men while seeking full accountability for their actions. .
