10 injured in Columbus, Ohio, by gunfire; police are looking for a suspect

Ten people were injured in a shooting Sunday morning in Columbus, Ohio.

Police were dispatched to the shooting at 2:28 a.m. in the city's Short North neighborhood, where they found six victims. They were then informed that four additional victims had been transported to the hospital, according to a news release from the Columbus Police Department emailed to USA TODAY.

The victims are being treated in three different hospitals.

One of the victims, a man, is in critical condition, reports NBC 4. All victims are expected to survive, the statement said.

Two of the victims were minors, the others are adults, reports the Columbus Dispatch, part of the USA TODAY network.

Detectives ask public for help

Police are searching for a white 4-door Honda Civic with tinted windows, which they believe was involved in the shooting, a tweet posted by the Columbus Division of Police states.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call Detective Justin Jones of the Columbus Police Criminal Assault Unit at 614-645-4373 or Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
