One person was injured after a plane crashed Sunday evening, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said the plane overturned as it approached Pierson Municipal Airport for a landing. The other person on board the plane was not injured in the crash. No one else was involved or injured in the accident. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk involved in the crash was manufactured in 2006, according to Federal Aviation Administration records. This comes after a glider crashed in a Polk County neighborhood Saturday, leaving the pilot hospitalized with serious injuries, according to the Winter Haven Police Department.
