1 person in critical condition and 2 others injured after shooting in Over-the-Rhine

CINCINNATI — A man is in critical condition and two other men were injured early Saturday morning in a shooting in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati police said.

Around 1:30 a.m., police officers present in the area of ​​13th and Clay streets heard “gunshots and screams.” The shooting happened before bar closing time in a popular OTR area that has several bars nearby.

Officers on scene told WCPO 9 that “everything happened pretty quickly.”

When police arrived, they found a victim in a parking lot behind a nearby bar. A second victim was found “bleeding in the street,” police said.

Lt. Jonathan Cunningham, CPD public information officer, said a man in his 40s was transported to UC Medical Center and was in critical condition following the shooting . A second man was also transported to UC Medical Center and is in stable condition, Cunningham said.

Cunningham also said a third man was taken to UC Medical Center in an individual vehicle and was also in stable condition. Police at the scene previously told WCPO 9 that the third man was believed to be connected to the shooting, but Cunningham would not confirm that.

Police have not released the identities of the victims.

They also did not say what led to the shooting or whether they had any suspects.
