1 dead in Antioch drive-by shooting on Macaulay Street

Antioch police have confirmed that one person is dead in a shooting Monday evening.

On June 3, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., Antioch police officers responded to the 1100 block of Macaulay Street after receiving a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man near the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately administered first aid to the man, who was eventually transported to a local hospital by paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.

The man was later identified as Henry Granado II, 18, of Pittsburg.

The Antioch Police Department Bureau of Investigation, comprised of crime scene investigators and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit, took charge of the investigation. This is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.

Editor's Note: It's unclear how many people were injured in the incident, with preliminary reports putting three victims in a drive-by shooting. It would be that of Antioch 5th homicide of 2024.
