1 dead after shooting at Monroe County bar

One person was shot and killed Friday night in a shooting at a Monroe County bar and restaurant, authorities said.

Police responded to the My Place Bar & Grill on Milford Road in Middle Smithfield Township at 10:46 p.m. and found a victim struck by gunfire, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The shooting victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Pocono Medical Center and later died, authorities said.

Police did not immediately identify the person killed in Friday night's shooting.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Pennsylvania State Police Stroudsburg Barracks at 570-619-6800.

The shooting remains under investigation.
