Still missing: families speak out about the search for their loved ones

JACKSON, Tenn. — Two families are asking for help finding their loved ones who are currently missing.

MISSING: Yhanai Johnson, 17

“I'm currently looking for my daughter Yhanai Johnson,” Chanae Johnson told us. “She disappeared on Sunday [June 23] at 4:30 p.m. Literally after I finished making dinner. She's traveling somewhere here in Jackson. She has friends in Memphis, but I don't know any of the friends she has here in Jackson or Memphis.

Chanae Johnson, mother of 17-year-old Yhanai Johnson, says her daughter was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black leggings cut into shorts and beige “bubble” slides.

She asks you to call the authorities if you see her.

“But now her appearance has changed. She’s probably wearing light mint green Pumas and probably maybe white pants and a shirt,” Johnson said. “If anyone has seen my daughter, please call the authorities again or call the number on my poster with her picture on it, which is (731) 574-5541, and I appreciate it guys. Anything will help bring my baby home. I appreciate it.”

Johnson said she contacted the Jackson Police Department about her daughter's disappearance.

Terry Wayne Jackson, 42

In another case, Terry Wayne Jackson, 42, has been missing since March 27.

His sister, Samatha Higby, told us she found out her brother was missing from her aunt about two weeks after he disappeared.

According to video footage provided by Higby, Jackson was last seen on the 27th at a McDonald's in Parsons around 11 a.m.

Higby's husband and mother-in-law searched the areas where they believed Jackson had gone.

Their search led them to find his car keys in a wooded area near Kelly Cemetery in Bath Springs, which were turned over to the Parsons Police Department.

We spoke to Jackson's aunt, Joni Herndon, who said that since the keys were found, police have conducted a three-mile search of the area.

“He has a family that misses him and wants to find him and get justice for him if something happened to him,” Herndon said.

She says if people with information don't want to talk to authorities, they can talk to her.

“I’m sure there’s a way for people here to contact me through Facebook, through our page or whatever,” Herndon said. “I’d be more than happy to talk to anybody.”

Parsons Police Lt. Adam England told us they are doing everything they can to search for Jackson, and if anyone has any information, please contact their dispatch number at (731) 852-3911.

We also spoke to the families of Daniel Aaron Martin and Joshua Holt, both of whom were recently reported missing. Each of their families confirms that they have since been found safe and sound.
