Show times for July 4th and beyond

When will the Rochester area see its best fireworks? Independence Day is just around the corner, which means Americans from all walks of life will be looking to celebrate with barbecues, parades and fireworks.

Local municipalities are planning displays around July 4, which falls on a Thursday this year.

Fireworks in the Rochester area on Saturday, June 29

Penfield- The July 4th celebrations feature a full day of activities, including a parade at 10 a.m. The fireworks show begins at 10 p.m. from Harris Whalen Park, although it is recommended to arrive by 9:30 p.m. to guarantee a spot in the park.

Chili – The Town of Chili Summerfest, formerly Chil-E Fest, returns with live music, a parade and, of course, fireworks. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. and festivities, including food vendors, will be centered on Chili Avenue.

Fireworks in the Rochester area on Wednesday, July 3

Conesus Lake Ring of Fire – As is a long-standing tradition, Conesus Lake residents will participate in the annual Ring of Fire, during which residents will stand at the water's edge with torches and flares. Fireworks will follow at dusk, with viewing possible from Vitale Park or Long Point Park.

Farmington – The fireworks show begins at dusk over the city complex at 1000 County Road 8. Before the show, there will be live music and food vendors set up starting at 6:30 p.m.

Richmond – Fireworks return to Richmond, with a show visible from Sandy Bottom Beach on the north end of Honeoye Lake at dusk.

Sodus Point – The annual fireworks display in the Lake Ontario community is scheduled for 10 p.m., with a children's parade scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in the fire station/village hall parking lot.

Sweden – People gathering at the Sweden/Clarkson Community Center should have a great view of the fireworks display, scheduled for dusk. The Independence Day celebration runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with activities, games and food. Visitors should bring chairs and blankets.

Fireworks in the Rochester area on Thursday, July 4

Brighton – A full day of activities is planned, starting with a 5K at 8 a.m. from Brighton High School. There will be live music, food trucks and inflatables for children, followed by an expanded fireworks display at 9:50 p.m.

Greece – The old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration will feature food trucks, family activities and live music, including a performance by Jefferson Starship. Participants will be able to take the shuttle from Greece Athena High School from 4:15 p.m.

Henriette – A full evening of family-friendly activities awaits, including live music, food trucks and vendors at Veterans Memorial Park at 595 Calkins Road. The fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m.

Irondequoit – The fireworks will begin around 9:45 p.m., but it will be an all-day event at Irondequoit City Hall, 1280 Titus Ave. Parking is limited nearby, but a shuttle runs from the Irondequoit Community Center to City Hall during the event, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Rochester- Come downtown for the annual fireworks show at 10 p.m., which lasts 15 to 20 minutes. The Broad Street and Court Street bridges are the best places to view the show and will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 8 p.m. Parking will be available in the Sister Cities, Court Street and Washington Square garages and on the street.

Fireworks in the Rochester area on Saturday, July 6

Canandaigua – Fireworks are returning to Canandaigua, with the town and village bringing back the annual tradition. Saturday's show will begin at dusk at Kershaw Park on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake.
