Shooting in Goldsboro | Man, 17, arrested in connection with Food Lion shooting in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) — An arrest was made Thursday evening in connection with a shooting at a Food Lion in Goldsboro earlier this month.

Police say Javon Langston, 18, of Goldsboro, was shot near the entrance to the grocery store. He later died from his injuries.

Authorities said a preliminary investigation revealed Langston had been involved in an argument with another man before the shooting.

A motion was then obtained for one count of murder on a juvenile suspect.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, the Goldsboro Police Department's Emergency Response Team, Investigations, Patrol, K9 and NCSBI arrested the 17-year-old man in the 300 block of Myers Avenue .

The name of the minor will not be released due to his age. He was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center for booking.
