Massive weapons bust in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – Two people were taken into custody Wednesday after investigators discovered multiple firearms and narcotics inside a Binghamton apartment.

On June 26, members of the Broome County Special Investigation Unit, along with the Binghamton Police Community Response Team and members of the Broome County Sheriff's Office, executed a warrant search of the first and second floor apartments at 11 Edwards Street.


Following the search warrant, investigators found the following items:

  • A loaded .9mm caliber handgun
  • A loaded .380 caliber handgun
  • A loaded .22 caliber rifle
  • An AK47 rifle loaded with 7.62 x 39mm
  • Ammunition for firearms
  • Approximately 64 grams (2.25 ounces) of fentanyl
  • About 2 grams of methamphetamine
  • $2,849 from drug trafficking suspects
  • Articles used for packaging and weighing narcotics

As a result of the investigation, Trenton Slezak, 27, and Michael Dickson, 63, were arrested and transported to the Binghamton Police Department.

Slezak was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
  • Five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Two counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia

Dickson was accused of:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
  • Two counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force is comprised of members from the Broome County Sheriff's Office, the City of Binghamton Police Department and the Village of Johnson City Police Department.
