Manchester man sentenced to 4 years for cocaine trafficking, illegal firearm possession

MANCHESTER — A Manchester man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses, according to US Attorney Jane E. Young.

Duron Flynn, 31, received a 48-month prison term followed by three years of supervised release from US District Court Judge Paul Barbadoro.

Flynn entered a guilty plea on March 18 to one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

“The defendant, a felon who was prohibited from possessing firearms, was undeterred by this prohibition and not only possessed a loaded stolen firearm but also items to traffic cocaine such as scales and more than $8900,” US Attorney Young stated. “The U.S.

The Attorney's Office and our law enforcement partners will vigorously enforce laws that keep our communities safe from felons who continue to commit federal crimes.”

The case unfolded on July 31, 2020, when the Manchester Police Department carried out a search warrant at a residence connected to drug activity by another individual.

During the search, officers found more than 50 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and additional drug distribution paraphernalia in Flynn's bedroom.

A loaded stolen handgun was discovered in a children's playhouse on the floor of the same room, alongside $8,915 in cash.

Flynn's previous felony conviction in Pennsylvania barred him from legally possessing any firearms.

The Manchester Police Department spearheaded the investigation leading to Flynn's arrest and conviction.
